Ella Mae Simpson, 70 of Pearland, TX transitioned Saturday, October 10, 2026, at her residence. She was a native of Thebes, AR, but a resident of Montrose, AR for most of her life. Mrs. Simpson was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of St. Peter Baptist Church in Montrose, AR; and was a former Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill employee in Crossett, AR.

She was preceded in death by her father, Abraham Clark, brothers, Larry L. Clark, and James L. Clark, Sr., a sister Alberta Polite (2026), and grandson, DaQuan Mitchell. Ella Mae enjoyed gardening, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She was a devoted daughter, a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a cherished friend.

She is survived by her husband Donald R. Simpson of Monticello, AR, mother, Abbie Clark of Dermott, AR, two sons, James Simpson of Newton, TX, and Donnie Simpson (wife Tonya) of Shankleville, TX, one daughter, Dr. ShaRon Simpson-Spikes (husband Daymon) of Rosharon, TX, three brothers, Abraham Clark, Jr., of Hamburg, AR, Joshua Clark of Dermott, AR, and Ray Curtis of McGhee, AR, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2026, at Cromwell Funeral Home from 5:00-6:00 pm. Graveside service will be Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 am at Montrose Cemetery with Pastor Michael Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Montrose Cemetery.
