Obituary

Mr. Scott Johnson, 83 of Crossett, AR, Cooter Community, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retired logger, a member of Unity Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army. Scott was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed watching old westerns & Baseball. The Atlanta Braves were his favorite team. Taking care of his family was a priority, he loved spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, James Lee Kelley, his parents, Rastus and Cora Watt Johnson, four brothers: Robert, Wilton, Raymond & Sonny Johnson and three sisters: Georgia Carter, Robbie Lynda and Francis Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janie Kelley Johnson, one son, James Edward Kelley of Crossett, AR, one daughter, Rebecca Henley, husband Craig of Monticello, AR, one brother, Billy Johnson, wife Sue of Crossett, AR, five sisters, Verdell Moore of Monroe, LA, Jean Ballard, Tina Burt, Norma Hamm, husband Bill and Sara "Sally" Tomblin, husband Francis all of Crossett, AR, two grandchildren, Josh Henley and Heather Johnson, husband Justin, one great grandson, Jarrett Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 7, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Carlton White & Bro. Kenneth Johnson, officiating. Pallbearers are William Earl Carter, Glen Moore, Barry Johnson, Allen Johnson, Chris Burt and Josh Henley. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Moore, Tim Ballard, Bobby Hamm, Jerry Johnson, Robert Johnson, Donald Wayne Johnson, Amon Johnson, Hardy Johnson, Michael Johnson, Raymond Johnson, Mark Burt, Bobby Kelley, Mark Kelley & Johnathan Kelley. Burial in Arkadelphia Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.

Body will lie in state Sunday from 6 pm until funeral time Monday at 3 pm at Unity Baptist Church, 1014 Highway 82.
