Mrs. Effie D. Danzy, 86 of Crossett, AR, transitioned on Thursday May 16, 2024, at her son's home in North Little Rock, AR. She was a native of McDowell, AL, a resident of Crossett for over forty years, and lived the past eight years of her life in North Little Rock with her son and his family. She was a retired housekeeping supervisor and a member of New Calvary Temple COGIC in North Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Robert Lee Danzy (2010), son John Edward Danzy, Sr. (2012), parents Preston and Callie Williford-Simmons, brother Melvin Simmons, sisters, Jo Ella Johnson (2022), Ida Rogers (2023), and Lecester Brown (2023), and grandson, John Edward Danzy (2022). Mrs. Danzy enjoyed sewing, gardening, and working word search puzzles.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Earl Danzy wife Deloise of Dallas, TX, Mark Ellis Danzy wife Valerie of North Little Rock, AR, two daughters, Janna Elaine Danzy of Crossett, AR, Princess Lee Danzy of Little Rock, AR, five brothers, Joe Lewis Simmons and wife Pearlie of Grenada, MS, William Simmons of Crossett, AR, Douglas Simmons and wife Ferry of Little Rock, AR, Alvin Simmons of Scott, AR, and Bobby Simmons and wife Linda of Jonesboro, GA, one sister Evelyn Moore and husband Sie of Scott, AR, fifteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Services will be Saturday May 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at New Calvary Temple COGIC in North Little Rock, AR, with Pastor Timothy James Hopson officiating. Active Pallbearers are Jackson Moore, Rahmel King, Jonathon Danzy, Edrik Danzy, Earnest Drayton, and Tyrique Jones. Honorary Pallbearers Jermaine Wade, LeRoy Kitchen, Antuaine Dunn, and LeRondres Kitchen. Burial in Westview Cemetery in Crossett, AR, under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc., of Hamburg, AR.
