Mr. Edward "Ed" Rogers, Sr., 73 of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Rogers was a native of Wilmot, AR, but a Crossett resident for the past 56 years, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill, and a member of First Baptist Church on Florida Street. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Rogers & Ellen Overton, and four brothers: John Rogers, Jr., James, Eugene & John Sellers. He served as chairman of the Trustee Board, Senior Choir Vice-President and was a member of the Men's Bible Class at First Baptist.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Avistine Rogers, four sons: Earl Rogers of Chicago, IL, Caster, wife Lena Rogers of Minneapolis, MN, Edward Rogers, Jr., and Anthony, wife Yketta Rogers all of Crossett, AR, four daughters: Bettye, husband Rev. John Lee Bowen of Minneapolis, MN, Sheila, husband Redo Reed of North Little Rock, AR, Patricia, husband Curtis Jo Boston & Renee', husband Ben Presley all of Crossett, AR, two sisters, Rosie Sellers of Bastrop, LA & Lois, husband Leon Whaley of Crossett, AR, eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Evandrew Washington, officiating. Pallbearers are Frankie Briggs, Johnny Mack Brown, Maurice Williams, Freddie Walker, Chad Johnson & Jessie Lowe. Burial in Westview Cemetery.
