January 4, 1954 – December 7, 2022
Edna Mae Porter, 68 of Lake Village, AR transitioned from this life on December 07, 2022, at UAMS in Little Rock, AR. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Village, AR, and a member of the Woodson Temple Baptist Church. Mrs. Porter was a devoted wife, mother, and a long-time employee of Chicot Memorial Hospital where she was the Supervisor of Housekeeping. She loved fishing and cooking for her family, church, and friends. She was known all throughout Lake Village for her delicious cooking.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by two sons Maurice Tyler (2006) and Derrick Porter (2014) , her parents Craven "CJ" & Lucille Tyler, two brothers, one stepbrother, and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her memory a husband of 41 years Roy Lee Porter Sr., two sons Larry Johnson of Little Rock, AR, Roy Porter Jr. and wife Shanta of Lake Village, AR, eight sisters, Mary Tyler of Lake Village, AR, Dorothy Tyler of Monticello, AR, Betty Cole of Lake Village, AR, Dorothy Sims of Star City, AR, Reda Tyler of Little Rock, AR, Central Rogers of Monticello, AR, Vivian Tyler and Sharon Tyler both of Dermott, AR, three brothers, David Tyrone Jones of Dermott, AR, Tommy Jones and wife Shirley of LaGuna Beach, CA, and Earsey Jones and wife Carmen of Monticello, AR, stepmother, Doris Tyler of Dermott, AR, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service is Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Central Community Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR with Rev. Arthur L. Haney officiating. Visitation Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 P. M. at Woodson Temple Baptist Church in Lake Village. Pallbearers are Charles Tyler, James Cole, Michael Tyler, Santago Porter, Brandon Tolliver, and Maurice McMiller. Honorary Pallbearers Deacons of Woodson Temple Church. Burial in Woodson Temple Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
