Mr. Edgar Lee Withers, 86 of Lacey, AR, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Lacey, a retired pulp wood worker, a member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, and was a Mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Bell Withers, his parents, John & Elvie Wilson Withers, four brothers: John Jr., Samuel, Wiley & Lester Withers, and two sisters, Ester Mae Lambert & Erma Lee Junior. Mr. Withers enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by one son, Eddie Lee Withers of Lacey, AR, three daughters: Geraldine Bell, husband Daniel of Monticello, AR, Mary Louise Withers of Lacey, AR, Helen Smith, husband, Gerald of San Antonio, TX, one granddaughter, Tiffany L. Jones, husband Stephan of Edgewood, MD, one sister, Sarah Johnson of Crossett, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Monday, December 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church with Rev. Jessie Washington, officiating. Active pallbearers are Daniel Bell, Gerald Smith, Leander Jenkins, Jr., Chad Johnson, Billy Daniels, Randy Turner, Floyd Handley and Ephraim Franklin. Honorary pallbearers are Antonio Merritt, Howard Scales, Johnny Lee Withers, Cleophus Withers, Cardell Withers, Martin Withers and Ernest Green. Burial in Friendship Cemetery in Lacey, AR under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.

Visitation Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home.
