Mr. Eddie Lee "June" Stewart,Jr. 71 of Portland, AR, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Stewart was a native of Mississippi, but a resident of Portland, AR for the last 50 years, a retired farm laborer and a member of New Light Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie & Susie Stewart, and one brother, Tommy Lee Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Melvina Stewart, six sons: Willie James Lancaster & Darnell, wife Mary Lancaster all of Montrose, AR, Walter, wife Mary Ann Lancaster of Monticello, AR, Eddie Stewart III of Portland, AR, Albert Lee Sr., wife Mary Stewart of Lancaster, CA & Melvin, wife Charlene Stewart of Warrent, AR, three daughters, Pamela Martinex of Little Rock, AR, Helen, husband Edward Frazier of Bastrop, LA & Suzie, husband Carl Rollins of Wilmot, AR, three sisters: Rosie Wright & Essie Stewart both of Greenville, MS & Willie Mae Stewart of Detroit, MI, twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at New Light Baptist with Rev. Lucan Hargraves, Sr., officiating. Pallbearers are Michael Anderson, Michael Triplett, Quincy Spells, Edward Frazier, Jr., Timmy Robinson & Lampkin Dunn. Burial in Montrose Cemetery.
