Mr. Eddie Duckery, Sr., 87, of Wilmot, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Lake Village Health Care Center. Mr. Duckery was a native of Wilmot, but lived in Gary, IN, for 40 years, was a retired industrial construction worker, a member of Second Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Duckery was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Williams Duckery, two brothers, John, Jr., & Homer Lee Duckery, and one sister, Bessy Wooden. He is survived by two sons, Eddie Duckery, Jr., and Kevin James Duckery, both of Wilmot, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation, Tuesday, 6-7 p.m., at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services are Wednesday, December 9, 1 p.m., at Second Baptist Church, with Rev. James Lewis officiating. Pallbearers are Kevin Duckery, Eddie Duckery, Jr., Billy Kitchen, Arthur Penn, Gerald Haskins, & Paul Strickland. Honorary pallbearers are Alvin Cox, Henry Parker, Carl Rollins, & Thurman Shaw. Burial will follow at Second Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc, of Hamburg.
