April 20, 1940 – July 27, 2024
Earl Gordon Pollock, 84, of Hamburg, AR, passed from this life to his heavenly home on July 27, 2024 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born and raised in the Berlin Community and was of the Pentecostal Faith.
In his younger years he was a member of the Hamburg Fire Department and the Jaycee's. He enjoyed fishing, hunting with his daughters, and spending time with family at the Bierbaum Farm. He also enjoyed watching football and basketball, listening to gospel music and watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. Earl's true passion was his life long career in logging with Bierbaum Timber Company, where he was honored by the New York Times as one of the oldest loggers in the country.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wendall Lane Pollock, parents, Garland and Elvira Pollock, nine brothers, Alton, C.W., Horace, L.C,, Ludell, Willard, Willie Ray, R.L., and Troy Pollock, five sisters, Carrie Chadwick, Lorene Morgan, Fayrene Rickman, Ruby Holland, and Sue Holland.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Fairchild Pollock, two daughters, Dana Maxwell 'Jeremy Simpson' and Lisa Gilliam both of Hamburg, AR, a sister-in-law, Joyce Fairchild of Hamburg, AR, grandchildren, Jacob and wife Bethany Maxwell, Ashlee Maxwell, and Madison Gilliam, great grandchildren, Veronica, Kole, and Aria. He leaves behind to cherish his memory life long friend and boss Jon Bierbaum.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:00 A.M. at the Mt. Zion Pavilion Berlin Community. Celebration of life service with gospel singing at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Mt. Zion Pavilion Berlin Community with Bro. Allen Eppinette officiating. Pallbearers are Lance West, Owen West, Jon Bierbaum, Jeremy Simpson, Zac Harper, and James Watt. Honorary pallbearers are Bierbaum Timber Co. Employees. Burial will be in Extra Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
