May 31, 1945 – February 3, 2025
Earl Washington Burns, 79 of Montrose, AR, transitioned, Monday, February 3, 2025 at Lake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was a native of Dermott, but an Ashley County resident. He was a retired farmer and a member of Montrose Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Harbor Burns (2003), step-son, Jeff Woolsey Burns, step-daughter, Vickie Woolsey Craig-Mixon, a brother, Franklin Thomas Burns, an infant brother, and his parents, Henry and Marie McCurdy Burns. Earl enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.
He is survived by four brothers, David and wife Joann Burns of Montrose, AR, Melvin and wife Lynette Burns of Norwalk, CA, Robert and wife Billie Burns and Bernard and wife Janice Burns all of Crossett, AR, three sisters, Carolyn Swann of Montrose, AR, Mary Cooley of Crossett, AR, and Martha and husband Troy of Dewitt, AR, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Graveside at Montrose Cemetery with Bro. Carlton White officiating. Pallbearers are David Burns, Bernard Burns, Troy Johnson, Johnnie Edwards, David Edwards, Kimbro Burns, and Buster Craig. Burial in Montrose Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
