Mr. Doyle Lee Blankenship, Sr., 87 of Crossett, AR, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Stonegate Villa Health & Rehabilitation in Crossett. He was a Bradley County native, a Crossett resident most of his life and was a retired paper maker for Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. Doyle was a member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran. He served his country during WWII and received the WWII Victory and Army of Occupation Medals.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Doris Grace Barnett Blankenship (March 11, 2011) one grandson, Matthew Lee Tyson, his parents, Lee & Nannie Smith Blankenship and two sisters, Bernice & Emma Jean Parker.

Mr. Blankenship was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by two sons: Doyle Blankenship, Jr., wife Judy and Bruce Blankenship, wife Rita, three daughters: Betty Tyson, husband Alex, Charlotte McDonald and Carolyn Crow all of Crossett, AR, ten grandchildren: Tony, Greg & Brad Blankenship, Mark Tyson, Doug Maxwell, Jennifer Gilbert, Barbie Clark, Kim Young, Gina Hicks, Amy Carter, and twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Hales & Bro. John Marlar officiating. Pallbearers are Doug Maxwell, Brad, Tony & Greg Blankenship, Brady Tyson & Cliff Gee. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Tyson, Kenny Clark, Paul Gilbert & Michael Young. Burial in Pinewood Memorial Park Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 6-8 pm at West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church, 1510 Highway W., Crossett, AR.
