Mr. Dorris Pitts Jr., age 61 died Tuesday May 16, 2023, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR. He was a native of Homer, LA., but a resident of Crossett, AR. for the past twenty-eight years. He was a construction worker and a member of Gates Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. Pitts was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, and playing pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorris Sr. and Olla Abbot Pitts, and a brother Charles Pitts.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years Bobbie Pitts of Crossett, AR., three sons Vernell Robinson of San Francisco, CA., Jamekio Williams wife Simone, and Vell Williams Jr. both of Crossett, AR., six daughters Shamekia Robinson of North Little Rock, AR., Brentt Harrison, and Raquella Robinson both of Dallas, TX., Briah Robinson of Conway, AR., and Senequa Pitts of Baton Rouge, LA., five sisters Veronica Pitts, Vickie Pitts, Marcia Kemp husband Chris, Mary Pitts, Precilla Mallory husband Calvin, and Viola Pitts all of Summerfield, LA., fifteen grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday May 26, 2023, at Gates Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church at 11:00 AM with Evangelist Rebecca Cornelius officiating. Burial will follow at West View Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Ford, Chris Kemp, Travis Kemp, Vell Williams, Vernell Williams, Robert Ace, Orlando Robinson, and Ledon Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers Calvin Mallory, Derrick Couser, Jimmy Ray Miller, Dennis Williams, and Scott Williams.
