Mrs. Dorothy Mae Leichmon, 80 of Strong, AR, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, AR. She was a life-long resident of Strong, and a homemaker. She was a member of Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Lee "G-Boo" Leichmon, her parents, Mackey and Deanna White Smith, three brothers: John T., George Lee and Joe Smith, and four sisters: Addie & Treenie Smith, Nettie Lovette and Viola Massey.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy, wife, Wanda Leichmon, of Norphlet, AR, Tracy Tyrone, wife, Pat Leichmo, of Strong, AR, two step-daughters, Faye, husband, Aurelle Miller and Belinda Wayne all of El Dorado, AR, one sister, Tressie Smith of Strong, AR, one step-brother, Jim "Big Jim" Betters of Strong, AR, nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Curry Chapel A.M.E. Church in Strong, AR, with Eld. Larry Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am Wednesday until funeral time at 1:00. Pallbearers are Bennie Howard, Eric Scott, Donell Smith, Mike Bolton, Darnell Smith and Percy Smith. Honorary pallbearers are John L. Scott and her grandsons. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery in Laran, Louisiana, under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg.
