Dorothy Nell Jones, age 84 of Byron, GA., transitioned on April 3, 2024, at the home of her sister-in-law in Salkum, WA. She was a native of Hamburg, AR., and a member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. Dorothy worked as a butcher for over forty years in five different grocery stores before retiring. She loved her family, friends, singing, and fellowshipping with family.

She was preceded in death by a son John Edward Wells (2019), and a daughter Joyce Ann Thomas, her parents Balam and Mary Jacob, a grandson Tyrick Cooper, seven brothers Lonnie Earl, Willie Earl, Earnest, Leon, Bruin, George Lee, and T.H. Jacob, six sisters L.V. Bradley, Irene Fisher, Maureen Carisdi, Bernice Robinson, Marie Cason, and Hazel Scott.

She is survived by two sons: Harvey Jacob of Malvern, AR., and Bobby Fountain wife Emily of Byron, GA., one daughter Erma Bruce husband Randy of Columbus, GA., one sister Christy Lee Davis of Hamburg, AR., eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday April 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg, AR., with Pastor Murlee Carter officiating. Active Pallbearers are Charles Carter, Burl Shaw, Henry Dunn, Kenny Muhammad, Dewayne Bowman, and Marcell Harris. Honorary Pallbearers are Lewis Cooper, Antonio Bruce, Phillip Cooper, Marcus Cooper, and Harvey Austin. Burial in Pugh Cemetery in Crossett, AR., under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc in Hamburg.
