Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Hampton-Wright, 63 of Crossett, AR, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR. She was a native of Crossett, but lived in Biloxi, MS about seven years, Vallejo, CA for thirty years, and Hinesville, GA for two years. She was a homemaker, member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, and a former member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Vallejo, CA where she was the choir director for twenty five years. Mrs. Wright enjoyed playing bingo, singing, working word puzzles, and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Wright, parents, Rev. Dallas and Elizabeth Carney-Hampton, three brothers, Junior, Walter, and Clinton Hampton.

She is survived by four sons, Dallas Smith, wife Donna of Pine Bluff, AR, Toney Barnes, wife Tiffani of Vallejo, CA, Lonnie Barnes, and Johnny Perry, wife Danielle both of Sacramento, CA, seven brothers, Raymond, Billy, Levell, Johnny, Charles, and Roy Hampton all of Crossett, AR, Troy Hampton of Camden, AR, six sisters, Bulah Mae Daniels of Crossett, AR, Mary Lou Hendrix, Ella Maxine-Sanford, Leola Davis, Lois Hampton all of Vallejo, CA, Corene Hampton of Sacramento, CA twenty five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one special friend Anne Ruth Husband, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Funeral services are Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin L. Crumpton, Sr. and Rev. Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers are Jereon Daniels, Christopher Daniels, Tracey Hampton, Billy Joe Hampton, Cedric Hampton, and Parell Hampton. Visitation is Monday, February 6, 2012 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church, 3011 Porter Jasper Rd., Crossett, AR 71635. Burial in Biloxi National Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
