Obituary

Dorothy Agnes Glover (75) of Dermott, AR transitioned to her eternal home on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in Bartlett, TN. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on February 19, 1948, to Willie B. Harris, Sr. and Dorothy (Ratliff) Harris. She attended Baltimore City Schools and graduated from Edmonson High School in 1966. She continued her education at Morgan State College in Baltimore, MD and later graduated from the University of Arkansas in Monticello.

Growing up in Baltimore, Dorothy attended St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church and later joined New Shiloh Baptist Church during her young adult years. Dorothy enjoyed playing tennis, walking, and reading. In addition, Dorothy really enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching TBN, Daystar, and several Christian and informational programs on YouTube. While living in Baltimore, she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in Washington, DC until she married her soul mate, Judge Don Glover on August 18, 1974.

Dorothy moved to Dermott, AR with her husband, and they had 2 children, Dorcedar and Doven. She worked for the Department of Human Services (DHS) as a social worker, where she retired after 20 years of service. After retirement Dorothy volunteered for Home Health Hospice in Monticello. She was known for being a very loving person, praying woman, an encourager, caring for others, and helping whomever she could. She was particularly inspired by her grandfather who taught her the importance of having a relationship with God. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Dermott, AR under the leadership of Pastor Doran Newhouse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Dorothy Harris and her brothers, Raymond L. Harris Sr., and Willie B. Harris Jr. Dorothy is survived by her husband Judge Don Glover of Dermott, AR, daughter, Dorcedar (Robert) House of Barlett, TN, son Doven Glover of Dayton, OH, two loving grandchildren, Morghan House of Arlington, TX and Kyle House of Bartlett, TN, sister LaVerne (Cephas) Bazemore of Owings Mills, MD, sisters-in-law JoAnne Harris of Catonsville, MD, Virginia (Doc) Halliday of Kailua-Kona, HI, Doris Glover of McGhee, AR, Barbara (Michael) Littlejohn of Lansing, MI, Dr Esther (Tunde) of Menomonie, WI, and Carlotta (Terence) Hallamon of West Bloomfield, MI, one brother-in-law Jesse Lacey of Little Rock, AR, nieces, Wilda Payton of Phoenix, AZ, Cynthia Lacey of Little Rock, AR, Judith James of Little Rock, AR, and Lysandra (Curtis) Hobbs of Jonesboro, GA; nephews, Willie B. Stanley of Baltimore, MD, Father Raymond L. Harris Jr. of Randallstown, MD, David L. Harris of Catonsville, MD, Richard Payton of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald (Kim) Glover of Little Rock, AR, Julian (Camille) Lacey of Florida, Jay Lacey of Little Rock, AR, Babatunde (Saudhy) Fahm Jr, Ronald M. Coleman Jr. of Owings Mills, MD; a special son, LoAesha Gammel of Dermott, AR; a Godson, Raymond Turner of Little Elm, TX, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Viewing & Visitation will be Monday December 11, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dermott, AR. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 P. M. with Pastor Doran Newhouse officiating. Interment will be Tuesday December 12, 2023, at 12:00 P. M. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR, under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home Inc. of Hamburg, AR.
