Doris Eugenia Wright Wider's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Eugenia Wright Wider, 82 of Dallas, TX, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. She was born on June 6, 1932 in Crossett, AR.
Mrs. Wider was preceded in death by her step-father, L.M. Wright, her mother, Mary Margaret May Harris, one brother, Larry Melvin Wright and one sister, Eula Mae Slate.
Mrs. Wider graduated from the Missouri School for the Blind in 1953. She was an accomplished pianist and soloist, in 1978 she released her first record which she sang, wrote and arranged seven songs. She was among the top 20 winners selected in a statewide Ronald McDonald contest designed to raise funds to benefit cancer victims. She also performed at her annual recitals.
She is survived by her younger siblings, Margaret Allen of Dallas, TX and John E. Wright of Effort, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones relatives and friends.
Memorial services are planned for September 21, 2014 at 10:00 am in Dallas.
