Mrs. Doris Grace Blankenship, 84 of Crossett, AR, died Friday, March 11, 2011 at Ashley County Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a homemaker and a member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Minnie Lochala Barnett, one grandson, Matthew Lee Tyson, five brothers: Arthur, Ted, Fred, Oliver & Floyd Barnett and two sisters: Agnes Irby and Mattie Pitchford. She enjoyed working in her yard and cooking fried pies. God and her family were the most important things to her.
Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her husband of 67 years, Doyle Blankenship, Sr., two sons: Doyle Blankenship, Jr., wife Judy and Bruce Blankenship, wife Rita all of Crossett, AR, three daughters: Betty Tyson, husband Alex, Charlotte McDonald and Carolyn Crow all of Crossett, AR, one sister, Belle Morgan of Amarillo, TX, ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:30AM at West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Hales and Bro. Joel Meredith officiating. Active Pallbearers are Cliff Gee, Tony Blankenship, Greg Blankenship, Brad Blankenship, Mark Tyson and Doug Maxwell. Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Young, Kenny Clark, Paul Gilbert, Sonny Hicks, Brady Tyson and Kole Maxwell. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Sunday, March 13 at West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 82 West, Crossett. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
