Donnell Clark, age 68 of Prairie View, TX, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at HCA Houston Health Care North Cypress.  He was a native of Thebes, AR, but grew up in Crossett, AR.  He was a 1974 graduate of Crossett High School.  After graduation he moved to the Bay Area of California where he became a rancher and professional horse trainer until his retirement in 2019.  He moved to Prairie View, TX after retirement.  He was a member of Greater St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church in Hempstead, TX.  He enjoyed coaching youth basketball, supporting youth organizations, and gardening.  Donnell's love for his family was undeniable.  His favorite past time was watching Yellowstone and The Godfather on television.

Donnell was preceded in death by his parents, Alford and Margaree Joe Clark, three brothers, James, Willie D., and Chris Clark, and two sisters, Mary Hemphill and Dorothy Grayson.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Duke Clark; two daughters, Kesha and husband Undra Reynolds of Crossett, AR and Danielle and husband Harrel Williams of Prairie View, TX; one son, Tyler Johnson Clark of Prairie View, TX; two sisters, Kathay Clark Brown of Phoenix, AZ and Deborah and husband Dennis Hemphill of Rock Hill, SC; six brothers, Alford Clark, Jr. of Stockton, CA, Freddie and wife Obie Jean Clark of Tracy, CA, Eddie Clark of West Memphis, AR, Raymond and wife Lorraine Clark of Crossett, AR, Claudell and wife Patrice Clark and Jessie Clark both of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Darian Johnson of Houston, TX, Xavier Brown of Pine Bluff, AR, and Harrel Williams of Prairie View, TX; two special childhood friends, Johnny Dupree and Lee Fred Brown both of Crossett, AR, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service is Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crossett, AR with Rev. Fred Thomas III officiating.  Visitation is Thursday, August 10, 2023 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Harrel Williams, Chris T. Clark, Ronald Jennings, Delvin Clark, Tyler Johnson Clark, Darius Ashford, Calvin Johnson, Trevor Clark, and Xavier Brown.  Honorary pallbearers are Harrel Williams, Jr., Jaron Epts, Corey Clark, James Clark, Jr., Patrick Hemphill, Tony Grayson, Zion Brown, Dezshawn Johnson, and Darian Johnson.  Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR
