Donald Joe Smith age 71 of Crossett passed away Tuesday April 11, 2017 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett and a retiree of Georgia Pacific Paper Mill.  He was a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church where he served in the deacon ministry and trustee ministry.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Smith on October 12, 2012, a son, Cedric Smith, parents, Leon and Lillie Mae Collins-Smith, a sister, Ruth Cappin. Donald was a loving father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He also enjoyed playing dominoes, softball and eating fish.

He is survived by three sons, Dallas Leon Smith (Dona) of Pine Bluff, AR; Donald Smith Jr (Cindy) of Willard, OH; Kuyunnie Smith (Kris) of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Katrinia Smith Williams and DaShonda Smith-Johnson both of Crossett, AR; five brothers, Reverend Melvin Smith (Doris) of Crossett, AR; Darror Smith (Gwin) of Lake Village, AR; Lawrence Smith of Malvern, AR; Dennis Smith (Lisa) of Pine Bluff, AR; Mark Smith of Crossett, AR; three sisters, Hester Handley , Cynthia Hollins (Gary), Diane Jackson (Andra) all of Crossett, AR; nineteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends

Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Walter Witherspoon officiating. Active pallbearers are Billy Taylor, Donald Foster, Daryle Daniels, Michael White, Lumos Blakely, Charlie Jefferson, Ken Neal, and Terry Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons and trustees of Pleasant Green Baptist Church. Burial in Westview Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6:00PM - 7:30PM at Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg, AR.
