Mr. Derrick Jermaine Porter, 34 of Arlington, TX, formerly of Lake Village, AR, died Saturday, December 13, 2014. He had resided in Arlington for the past 16 years, and was a Barber. He was of the Baptist faith, was a 1998 graduate of Lakeside High School, and also attended Mid Cities Barber College in Grand Prairie, TX, where he completed classes to become a Barber.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Maurice Tyler, his maternal grandmother, Lucille Tyler-Green, his paternal grandparents, John H. porter and Ruby Johnson Porter. Derrick loved to play pool, he was always playing in a pool tournament.

He is survived by one son, Jaden Moore of Arlington, TX, one daughter, Honest Porter of Garland, TX, his parents, Roy Sr.& Edna Tyler Porter of Lake Village, AR, two brothers: Larry Johnson, Jr. of Arlington, TX & Roy Porter, Jr., wife Shanta of Lake Village, AR, his maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, C.J. Tyler & Dorothy Tyler of Dermott, AR, and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services are Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 am at Central Community Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Haney, officiating. Active pallbearers are Cedric Gaston, Gregory Johnson, Selento Miller, Marcus Jones, Octavious Easterling & Walter Smith. Honorary pallbearers are the Lakeside High School Class of 1998. Burial in Woodson Temple Cemetery.

Visitation Friday, December 19, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Woodson Temple Baptist Church.
