September 9, 1959 – August 29, 2025
Daisy Mae Mayes, 65 of Ft. Smith, AR, formerly of Crossett, AR passed Friday, August 29, 2025, at Methodist Village Senior Living in Ft. Smith, AR. She was a native of the Longview Community, a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray Mayes, Sr. (2011), two brothers, L.G. Franklin, and McCoy Franklin, one sister, Mary Lean 'Maelean' Miller and her parents, L.B. and Erma Franklin. She enjoyed the outdoors and watching Little House on the Prairie. She was an amazing cook and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Daisy is survived by three sons, Marcus Bornslater and wife Keseya of Dallas, TX, Travis Hollins and wife Tequllia of Jonesboro, AR, and Dequan Hollins of Ft. Smith, AR, three daughters, Brianca Hollins of Ft. Smith, AR, Brittany Hollins of Conway, AR, and Amber Hollins of Monroe, LA, one brother, Denzel Franklin of Tulsa, OK, four sisters, Vera Morrison and husband Thomas of Crossett, AR, Katie Bryant and husband Carl of Fordyce, AR, Bobbye Davis and husband Marty of Monticello, AR, and Constance Franklin of Little Rock, AR, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 A.M. prior to service. Funeral service is Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. graveside at Mt. Pelium Cemetery in the Longview Community with Minister Thomas Morrison officiating. Burial in Mt. Pelium Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
