Obituary

Cynthia Denice Childs; age 71 of Crossett, AR formerly of Las Vegas, NV transitioned Monday, June 6, 2026, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born in Chicago, IL to Robert and Dorothy Childs and was the oldest of four children born to this union. The family moved to Las Vegas in the 1960's and Cynthia attended Matt Kelly elementary and El Dorada High School. She never married and didn't have any biological children; but she was the best Aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. Years later she would relocate to her mother's home of Crossett where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at what was then called The Leisure Lodge Nursing Home in Crossett. She worked at the Road Mart alongside her best friend, Easter Mae Brown and later became the kitchen supervisor at the Pillars of the Community where she was loved and adored by those who worked with her. She attended Zion Temple A.M.E. Zion Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Grace Childs, father Robert Eugene Childs, her sisters, Sylvia Yvette Childs and Sybil Childs-Johnson, brothers, Fred Howard and Robert Childs, Jr., aunts, Emily Brown "Hotsy" and Ernestine Mansfield "Teenie"; and uncles, Eddie Dunmore "Rip" and BillyJo Williams. Cynthia was a devoted daughter to her mother Dorothy "Nip," as well as her nieces Patricia "Sha" and Sharonda "Puddlez," and nephew Robert "Bobby".

She leaves to cherish her memories nieces; Patricia Desha Childs "Sha," Sharonda Howard, and Sherry Aaron, nephew Robert Howard (Tasha), uncles: Robert Williams "Boobie" and Calvin Dunmore (Martha), cousins: Faye Marshall Simpson, June Fields, Veverly Randle (Freddie), Falana Brown (Lee Fred), Edward Brown "Chuck," Mario Brown, Darus Fields, and Valencia Marshall Rogers; sister-in-law Judy Howard, and best friends, Easter Mae Brown and Jerry Davis. 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
