December 25, 1942 – June 13, 2025
Curtis James Haskin, 82 of Wilmot, AR, made his transition Friday, June 13, 2025, at Nightingale at Stonegate in Crossett, AR. He was a native of Crumrod, AR, but lived most of his life in Wilmot, AR. He was a diesel mechanic and a member of Greater Life Cathedral Apostolic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Lottie Mae Haskin (2017), two sisters, Marzella Rallings, and Bertha Taylor, one granddaughter, LaToyia Johnson Cooke, and parents, Sam Haskin and Mary Coleman.
Mr. Haskin enjoyed gardening, fishing, and swimming, and was an excellent cook. He was a very intelligent man who spoke fluent Spanish and often served as a translator in the community. He was an all around 'Mr. Fix It' who repaired many different appliances and small engine machines. Curtis was kind-hearted and humorous and he loved helping people and making them laugh. He was a loving father, grandfather, and father figure to many children in the community.
He is survived by two sons, Gerald Haskin of Wilmot, AR, and Curtis Haskin, Jr. ( Katrina ) of Cincinnati, OH, five daughters, Carolyn Robinson ( Frankie) of Monroe, LA, Alma Strickland ( Kenneth) of Benton, AR, Sandra Brown (Wilbert) of Little Rock, AR, and Latoshia Haskin ( Herbert) of Hamburg, AR, Valinda Rollins of Pine Bluff, AR, one bonus daughter, Connie Robinson ( Limmie) of Portland, AR, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, fifteen great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Friday, June 20, 2025 5:00-6:00 at Cromwell Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday, June 21, 2025 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Wilmot with Rev. Albert Fenceroy officiating. Active pallbearers are Kiyon Johnson, Kelsey Haskin, Damion Bethea, Frankie J. Robinson, Bruce Rollins, Jr. and Kyle Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Robinson, James Taylor, Bruce Rallings, Sr., Moses White Sr., Woody Rallings, Damonte Brown, Adrian Brown, Toren Cooke, Damon Cooke Jr., Thurman Shaw, Wilbert Brown, Kenneth Strickland, Herbert Watkins, Ricky Dawson, and Stacy Harris. Burial in Jim Smith Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
