Ms. Cora Bell Brown, 82 died Friday, September 17, 2010 at her home in Crossett, Arkansas. She was a native of Portland, Arkansas but a lifelong resident of Crossett. She was a homemaker and a member of Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church. Cora was a very loving mother and grandmother, and could go fishing every day except Sunday.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Norris Reed and Annie Mae Brown; one brother: Theo Adams; one sister: Vera Bryant; and a long time companion Jessie B. Thompson.
She is survived by one son: Robert E. Robinson of Memphis, Tennessee; five daughters: Dorothy Brown and husband Billy Ray, and Bobbie Robinson Pitts and husband Dorris both of Crossett, Arkansas, Shirley McDaniel and husband Joe, and Kristy Brown Lowe and husband Rodney both of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mary Robinson of Monroe, Louisiana; one stepson: Joe Monroe of Little Rock, Arkansas; two brothers: Billy Joe Bryant and wife Wanda of Camden, Arkansas, and Willie Bryant of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters: Dorothy Caldwell of Crossett, Arkansas and Liza Mae Bryant of Dallas, Texas; twenty-nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 1:00P.M. at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Tyrone Broomfield and Pastor Harriel White, III officiating. Pallbearers are Billy Ray Brown, Rodney Lowe, Frankie Johnson, Ulish Haynes, Jr., Ray Charles Washington, and Tony Goree. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg Arkansas.
