December 24, 1976 – February 2, 2017
Colby Correll Jackson was born December 24, 1976 in El Dorado, AR to the late John T. and Queen Esther Jackson. He was a graduate of Crossett High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. While at UAM, he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Colby was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Crossett, where he was a member of the Mass Choir and was employed by Georgia Pacific Papermill. He was faithful to his church and his job until his health began to fail.
Colby was past Master of Exodus Lodge 403, a member of State Line #81 Royal Arch of Commandery #5 Knight Templar. He was also a member of Sliver Star #306 Order of Eastern Star, and was currently appointed Patron for 2017. He served with a passion and mission. He enjoyed fishing and all sports but baseball was his favorite. He loved his Masonic Order.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. John T. and Queen Esther Jackson; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Eddie and Joyce Colen and Johnny and Bertha Jackson. He is survived by his wife; Jeannetta Goodwin-Jackson of Crossett; daughter, Niyah Jackson of Crossett; five brothers, Rev. Curtis Jackson, Sr. (Linda) and Bobby Jackson (Patty), both of Crossett, Rev. Travis Jackson, Sr. (Carolyn) and Winford Jackson (Merdis), both of Fordyce and Johnny Fisher (Debra) of Warren, Arkansas; three sisters, Patricia Jackson and Jackie Willis (William) both of Crossett, and Carolyn Dismute (Lonnie) of Fordyce, AR; a special family, Don and Otistene Smith of North Little Rock, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Jackson, assisted by Reverend Marvin Scott. Active Pallbearers Mario Brown, Raynard Danzy, Jabarre Davis, Chad Johnson, Marlon, Moore, Colin Sims, Terrell Wimberly, Bruce Wright. Honorary Pallbearers Masonic Lodge #403, Order of Eastern Stars #306, CHS Class of 1997.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home. It's at this time that friends and family will be able to share their expressions of love, gratitude, and fond memories of Colby.
