Mrs. Clovice Jackson Wilder, 88, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Wilmot, AR, died Saturday, April 4, 2015. She was a Wilmot native, a retired educator for over 40 years in the Wilmot and Hamburg School Districts, and was a member of Shady Grove A.M.E. Church.
Mrs. Wilder was preceded in death by her husband Cain Wilder, her great-grandson, Taylor Belton, her parents, Robert D. & Mary Jackson, three brothers: Robert Jackson, Jr., Thomas Jackson & Timothy Jackson and two sisters, Bernice Johnson and Frances Smith. She was a retired teacher for the Wilmot & Hamburg School Districts. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from AM&N College, now the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, where she graduated with honors, and she received her Master's Degree in Special Education from Henderson State University. She was a dedicated and caring teacher who touched the lives of many students and people in the Wilmot and Parkdale communities.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sons: James E. Jackson, wife Alma of Pine Bluff, AR, Carl Wilder of Blue Springs, MO, Cleotis Wilder, wife Brenette of Lee's Summit, MO, two daughters, Carolyn Hughes, husband Howard of Kansas City, MO, Anita Ramirez of Blue Springs, MO, three sisters: Beatrice J. Clark, Lossie J. Davies & Juel J. Richardson all of Chicago, IL, one brother Richard L. Jackson, wife Genetta of Chicago, IL, ten granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, four sisters-in-law: Lavern Nelson of Memphis, TN, Morolyn Ester of Tulsa, OK, Eliza Wilder of Gary, IN, Maggie Jackson Hale of Milwaukee, WI, special friend, Mildred Anderson of Birmingham, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Shady Grove A.M.E. Church in Wilmot, AR with Minister Genetta Jackson & Pastor Darron Edwards, officiating. Pallbearers are Kevin Clark, Daryl Davies, Calvin Hill, Leon L. Nelson, Gerard Wilder & Jasper C. Wilder.
