Mr. Clifton Doyle Carpenter, age 76, of Hamburg, AR passed away Monday, January 02, 2017 at his son's residence in Choudrant, LA. He was a resident of Hamburg, a retired Appliance Repairman and owner of the Sears Store in Hamburg, a Veteran of the United States Airforce, and a member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Freeman and Lala Emory-Carpenter, two brothers, Glynn Carpenter and Quintin Freeman, four sisters, Hazel Emogene White, Mattie Ruth Threlkeld, Mary Louise Thomas, Marjorie Nathalee Moore, and one grandchild, Seth Carpenter. Mr. Clifton was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a passion for work.

He is survived by two sons, Clifton "Bucky" Carpenter, Jr. wife Denna of Greenbriar, AR; Robert Carpenter wife Melissa of Choudrant, LA; two brothers: William Oliver Carpenter of Hamburg, AR; James Edwin Carpenter of Monticello, AR; eight grandchildren: Jessie Nichols, Hollie Moore, Halley Hart, Kylie Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter, Logan Carpenter, Dakota Carpenter and Cheyenne Carpenter, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Services will be held 11:00AM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, 765 Ashley 70 Rd, Hamburg, AR 71646 with Bro. Trey Emory, officiating. Pallbearers are John Sanderlin, Mike Sanderlin, Ronnie Lauhon, Jackie Lauhon, Mike Riley, and Bill Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles "Bull" Wells, Dale Lauhon, Julien Estelle, Dewey Scutter Kilcrease, Daniel Carpenter and Bob Rush. Burial in Promise Land Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
