Mrs. Clarice Penix, age 79, of Crossett, passed away Tuesday June 12, 2017 at Baptist Health and Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was a native of Strong, AR but had been a resident of Crossett for the past 59 years. She was a member of Davis Memorial Church of God and Christ and a retired custodian for the Crossett School District.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman White and her second husband Employ Penix; one daughter, Clara Lee White-Jones; her parents, Ferdinand and Della Tyler-Reynolds; four brothers, Fred, Willie, Henry, and Gordon Reynolds; one grandson, Randal White; one great granddaughter, Kylie White; and a son in law, Cornelius Brown.

Mrs. Penix was a devoted  mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, fishing, and watching wrestling. She was an avid collector of angels and other ornaments.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Herman White ( Bettie) of Pine Bluff, AR and Michael White of Benton, AR; 3 daughters; Doolrecy Brown and Dorothy white of Crossett and Sarah Butler ( Gregory) of Marion, LA; six brothers; James Reynolds and George Reynolds of Oakland, CA, McArthur Reynolds of Detroit, MI, Robert James Reynolds, Arthur Reynolds and Leon Reynolds all of Strong, AR; 2 sisters, Della Lee of Emeryville, CA and Melva Reynolds-Hicks of Oakland, CA; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Drive in Crossett on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating Rev. Theodis Shelton, Elder Mark Danzy, Rev. Curtis Jackson and Rev. Herbert Holtwanger. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Strong, AR.

Visitation will be held at Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 5:30-7:30pm.
