Obituary

Mr. Charlie Wilkins, 84 of Montrose, Arkansas died Friday, June 11, 2010 at his residence in Montrose,Arkansas. He was a native of Osceola, AR, a retired farm laborer with over 40 years of service with Jack Gipson Enterprises. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Boydell, Arkansas,an avid hunter and loved working in his vegetable garden.

He was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Wilkins, his parents, Sam and Lena Pender Wilkins, two brothers, Willie and Sam Wilkins, and two sisters, Viola Wilkins and Emmitt Murphy.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lula West Wilkins, five sons, Amos Knight of Kansas City, KS, Charlie Wilkins, Timothy and Wife Darlene Wilkins, Bobby and wife Sharettia Wilkins all of Detroit, MI, and Danny Ray Wilkins of Dermott, AR, six daughters, Viola Burton, Katherine and husband Izell Avery, Florene and husband Michael James, Gloria and husband Ron Burns, and Peggy and husband James Owens all of Detroit, MI, and Lula and husband Roy Rockett of Milwaukee, WI; one daughter-in law, Errie Wilkins of Allen Park, MI, 38 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dermott, AR with Rev. Dwight Davis officiating. Pallbearers are the grandsons. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
