Charlie Field Allen, age 71 of Montrose, AR., died Saturday October 28, 2023, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. He was a native of Montrose and a lifelong resident of Ashley County. He was a winder operator at the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill until his retirement. Mr. Allen enjoyed working in his garden, fishing, playing pool, cooking, and watching the news.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie Field and Virgie Mae Lewis Allen, a son Christopher C. Allen (2022), and a sister Helen Harvey (2019).

He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter Betty M. Allen of Detroit, MI., two brothers Jessie Lee Allen of Little Rock, AR., and Willie Allen of McGhee, AR., four sisters Alice Perry, Sylvia Worthy, Angelia Green husband Earl, and Patricia Allen all of Little Rock, AR., two grandchildren Christal M. Allen, and Kameran M. Harris, and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services will be Monday November 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Montrose Cemetery with Pastor John D. Tolbert officiating. Pallbearers are Michael Perry, Will Henry Allen, Jessie Allen, Earl Green, Leroy McDaniel, and Charles Bynum. Burial will follow at Montrose Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home Inc. of Hamburg.
