Carl Lee "Buddy" Tucker, age 91 of Crossett, AR transitioned Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock, AR surrounded by his family. He was a native of Hamburg, AR, born to Alonzo "Tom" and UZ Harper Tucker on May 10, 1935. He was a resident of Crossett for most of his life where he lived a long and prosperous life marked by love of family, faith, and friends. Carl devoted over 30 years of his life as a shipping clerk supervisor at Georgia Pacific Extrusion plant in Crossett, AR. He was of the Christian faith and a devoted member of Church On The Rock where he attended regularly until his health began to decline.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and UZ Harper Tucker, four brothers: Vasco Tucker, Sr., Allen C. Tucker, Larry Tucker, and Jessie Tucker, and one sister, Uzell Tucker. During his earlier years he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and maintaining his yard. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching westerns and animal shows, listening to gospel sermons, and reading his bible. He was well respected in the community and enjoyed the fruits of others' gardening, hunting, and fishing. Carl would be seen driving his classic brown Ford F-150 truck around town until he stopped driving near the age of ninety.
He is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-six years, Gertharene Tucker, three children: Ricky Tucker of Pensacola, FL, Penny Tucker of Arlington, VA, and Dr. Gale Tucker of Silver Spring MD, two sisters, Alice Johnson and her husband Wendell, and Lorise Hughes and her husband Charles, two special nieces Cassandra Ferguson and Angela Jones, and nephews Charles Tucker and Wendell Tucker to whom he was always known affectionately as Uncle Buddy; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral Service is Friday, August 7, 2026, at Church On The Rock at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bob Whitley officiating. Pallbearers are Mickey Reed, Mario Brown, Ray Lewis, Ricky Parker, Willie Washington, and Ray Frazier. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Tucker and Wendell Tucker. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
There will be a Visitation Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg from 5:00-6:00 P.M.
