Obituary

Mr. Carl Edward Harrington, age 93 of Crossett, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the John L. McClellan V. A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retired farmer and a member of Second Baptist Church in Crossett. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II of the 357th Infantry. He received a purple heart, a European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, an American Theater Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and a World War II Victory Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abner Morris and Fannie Barnett Harrington; Five brothers, Curtis, Robert, Amon, Roy and Gerald Harrington; One sister Syble Standridge.

He is survived by one son, Carl E. Harrington, Jr. of Crossett; one daughter, Kim Branson of Crossett and one brother, Billy Joe Harrington of Crossett; Six sisters, Estella Chandler, Francis Blissett and Essie Meyer all of Crossett; Jessie Harvy of Bogalusa, LA and Rosie Lee White of North Little Rock and Rethea Laws of Harrison, AR.; Four grandchildren, Chris, Madison, Jordan and Ian Branson.

Service will be held Sunday at 1:00PM at Second Baptist Church in Crossett. Ministers will be Bro. Travis Roberts and Bro. James Flemming. Pall Bearers are Keith Harrington, Kevin Harrington, James Harrington, Harrold Wayne Pennington, Kenny Pennington and John Surratt.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 17th from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Second Baptist Church in Crossett.
