Mr. Calvin Floyd Fairchild, 82 of Hamburg, AR, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. He was a native of Dumas, AR, a retired truck driver, and a member of South Side Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Ryan Savage on Aug. 16, 2013, his parents, Greenville Wesley and Sarah Elizabeth Shepard Fairchild, four brothers: L.D., Arthur Doyle, Henry Lee Fairchild and Wesley Wilson Fairchild on October 11, 2013, one half-brother, Lawrence Rayford, and one half-sister, Patricia Fairchild. Floyd was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and raising a vegetable garden was his passion. He also enjoyed sitting around singing gospel hymns.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dixie Ann King-Fairchild, three sons: Dean Fairchild, wife Vickey of Crossett, AR, Randy & Jeffrey Fairchild both of Hamburg, AR, five daughters: Connie Jean Savage, Theresa Ann Holland, husband Pat, Deborah Adams, husband Donald and Wanda McNeil, husband Freddie all of Hamburg, AR & Renee Barfield of Crossett, AR, one adopted daughter, Dianne Cessor of Hamburg, seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services are Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Southside Baptist Church with Bro. Von Blue, officiating. Active pallbearers are Ricky Martin, Joseph Savage, Kevin McNeil, Tyler Fairchild, Jake Adams and Brian Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Michael McDonald & Andrew Barfield. Burial in Carlock Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.

Visitation Friday, October 18, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home.
