Mr. Billy James Hampton, 71, of Crossett, AR, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his residence.  He was a lifelong resident of Ashley County and a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Keodrick Tyree Hampton; his parents, Rev. Dallas and Elizabeth Carney-Hampton; seven brothers, Walter, Clinton, Junior, Levell, Troy, Charles, and Raymond Hampton; four sisters, Dorothy Wright, Ella Woods, Coren Hampton, and Mary Lou Hendrix.  Billy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding and breaking horses, deer hunting, and fishing.  He also enjoyed sitting around telling jokes.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Ann Brown-Hampton; six sons, Tracy Hampton, Terry Hampton, and Billy Joe Hampton, all of Crossett, AR, Tracy Hampton Jr., wife Cierra, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Undrea Singleton of Crossett, AR and Derrick Singleton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four daughters, Janice and Tamekka Hampton of Bastrop, LA, Shaliz Singleton of Crossett, AR and Kinasha Hampton of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Johnny and Roy Hampton of Crossett, AR; three sisters, Bulah Daniels of Crossett, AR, Lois Hampton and Leola Davis, husband Thomas, of Vallejo, CA; twenty-five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 11:00AM, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Rev. James Simpson and Rev. Murlee Carter officiating.  Active Pallbearers are Undrea Stanley, Harlen Colbert, Freddie Brown, Charles Brown, Earnest Bryant, and Kenneth Wallace.  Honorary Pallbearers are Deacons and Trustees of Pleasant Green Baptist Church.  Burial will be at Carlock Cemetery.
Viewing will be Monday, July 23, 2018, from 1:00PM-5:00PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
