Billy Ray Brown, 66 of Crossett, AR, transitioned Sunday, June 22, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock, AR.  He was a native of Wilmot, AR, but a resident of Crossett since 1978. He was a retiree of Carastar Industries, and a member of Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dora Smith Brown, six brothers, Willie Jr., Lee Edward, Tommy, Calvin, Johnny Mack, and Hosey Brown, and one sister, Janie Mae Robinson. He enjoyed cooking, cleaning, mowing lawns, going to church, and his favorite store Family Dollar.

Billy Ray was an humble man who loved talking to people and giving them words of encouragement.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Dorothy Brown, two sons, Billy Ray Brown, Jr. and companion Chelsey Reed of Crossett, AR, and Anton and wife Glenda Stanley of Kansas City, MO, five daughters, Tanisha, Raven, and Khadijah Brown all of Crossett, AR, Alicia Brown of Bossier City, LA, and Kenesha Brown of Bastrop, LA, two brothers, Donnie Brown of Wilmot, AR, and Donald and wife Debra Cooper Brown of Eudora, AR, four sisters, Mary McAdoo and Daisey Stokes both of Wilmot, AR, Carolyn and husband Willie Arnold of Eudora, AR, and Gerdie and husband Kenneth Goodwin of Gary, IN, fourteen grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service is Friday, June 27, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Presiding Elder Harriel D. White III oficiating. Pallbearers are Orlando Robinson, Shun Brown, Kadeem Cason, Rodrequiez Robinson, Jerome Paskel, and Zemarcus Mays. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
