Obituary

Beverly Kaye Wimberly, 66 of Oakland, CA, transitioned July 26, 2024, at Canyon Creek Post-Acute Nursing Home in Castro Valley, CA. She was a native of Wilmot, AR, and a 1976 graduate of Wilmot High School. She later moved to Oakland, CA and united with Center of Hope Community Church where she remained a member until her passing. Ms. Wimberly was employed as an Environmental Engineer at UCSF Children's Hospital in North Oakland, CA for over 30 years. Her love of children made her job especially joyful and rewarding and several times she was named employee of the month. Her greatest passion was spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Golden State Warriors and through her job had the opportunity to meet many of the players. If you told Beverly I love you, she would always respond with I love you more. Beverly We Love You More!

She was preceded in death by her parents William (Doc) and Cora (Miss Red) Wimberly, and two sisters Mary Wimberly and Katie Wimberly Mooney.

She leaves to continue her legacy three children: Eric Wimberly wife Eda of Oakland, CA, DeAndre Wimberly of Las Vegas, NV, and Jamie Williams of San Leandro, CA, two brothers: William Wimberly wife Billie of Godfrey, IL, and Christopher Wimberly of Pine Bluff, AR, seven sisters: Beulah Jean Johnson of Lake Village, AR, Lois Woods of Oakland, CA, LaNell Woods of St. Louis, MO, Shirley Simms of St. Louis, MO, Rosie Scott of Hayward, CA, Tijuana Wimberly of San Lorenzo, CA, and Evelyn Wimberly of Missouri City, TX, eight grandchildren: Eric Lamont, Daveon, Kenedi, Elijah, Taliyah, Brandon, Samajay, and Jeremiah, a host of nieces, nephew, other family, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday August 24, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at John Wesley AME Zion Church Wilmot, AR with Rev. Albert Fenceroy officiating. Burial in St. Martha Cemetery in Wilmot under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
