Minister Bertha Mae Pitts Haynes, 76 of Hamburg, AR, was born on July 11, 1949 to Willie Lee Pitts and Daisy Mae Martin Pitts in Dermott, AR. She transitioned peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Raphael and Daisy's home in Eldorado, AR. Minister Haynes proudly resided in Hamburg for 54 years and was a dedicated member of Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted servant of God and in May of 2018, she received a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from the United Theological Seminary and Bible College. She was also a faithful District Missionary member since 1988, where she worked diligently in Christian Education.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Pitts and Daisy Mae Martin Pitts, and her brothers, Larry James Pitts and Albert Pitts. Minister Haynes enjoyed fishing, attending church, community involvement, crafting, shopping, dining out, and most of all spending time with her beloved family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted husband, Clarence William Haynes of Hamburg, AR; and one son, Travis T. Haynes, Sr. of Hamburg, AR; three daughters, Janis D. Haynes-Gilliam (Terry) of Crossett, AR, Daisy L. Haynes-Adkins (Raphael, Sr.) of El Dorado, AR, and Jennifer L. Haynes-Fields (Louis) of Bastrop, LA; three brothers: Willie Lee Pitts, Jr. of Crossett, AR, Jerry Lee Pitts (Phyllis) of Houston, TX, and Ricky Hawkins (Monica) of Raymore, MO; five sisters: Betty Pitts-Haynes of Crossett, AR, Pinkie Pitts-Causey of Crossett, AR, Joyce Pitts-McHenry of Frisco, TX, Debra Cooper-Lancaster (Walter) of Dermott, AR, and Darlene Hawkins-Cherry of Jacksonville, AR; childhood friend and sister by love, Ella Briggs; children by love: Marie Ellis-Hampton (Jonnie), Robbie Baldwin-Stanley, Janis Barnett-Williams (Garry), Jackie Morgan, Anita Morgan, Marilyn Barnett-Wilson (Reggie), and Linda Wade-Ingram (Horace); twenty grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Cromwell Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg, AR, with Reverend Horace Ingram officiating. Active Pallbearers are: Micah Henderson, Raphael Adkins, Jr. (Poohman), Lorenzo Watkins (Muscle), Ovilton Gilliam, and Travis Haynes (T.J), Dexter Parker, Darius Hampton (Dee), and Pastor Horace Ingram. Honorary Pallbearers are Herbert Watkins, Xavin Gilliam, Ray Hill, Louis Fields, III, and Justin Fields. Burial will be at Phillip Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg, AR.
