Mrs. Bernetta LaJoy Wofford, age 88, of Crossett, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Reverend Richard Townsell Sr. and second husband, Reverend Hallie M. Wofford; two sisters, Alverta Griffin and Bernice Scott; two brothers, Noelton and Charles Simpson.  Mrs. Bernetta was devoted to her church, enjoyed cooking, quilting, and spending time with her family. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Wayne Simpson (Yvonne) of Palmdale, CA; Richard Townsell (Deanna) of Lake View Terrace, CA; two daughters, Sheri Moore (Charles) of Crossett, AR; Linda Hairston (Michael) of Van Nuys, CA; one brother, Leondras Simpson (Elaine) of Crossett, AR; one sister, Earlene Pace (Earnest) of, Shepherd TX;seven grandchildren, Kimberly Burkett, Shandyla Kidd (Roderick), Kristie Harris (Rodney) Jasmine Moore, Bryan Simpson, Wayne Simpson Jr. Richard Townsell III; one great grandchild, Kahmron Hymes; and a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse L. Radford Jr. officiating.

Pallbearers are Michael Williams, Kahmron Hymes, Curtis Harris, Richard Townsell III, Chadwick Sims, Chuck Brown, and Brannon Kidd. Honorary Pallbearers are New Bethel Baptist Church Mission Ministry, and the Women's Sunday School Class.

Burial will be in Quinn Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Monday, April 3, 2017 at Cromwell Funeral Home.
