Mrs. Beatrice 'Bea' Jasper, 71 of Crossett, AR transitioned Friday, May 10, 2024, at her daughter's home in Alexander, AR. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett, and a retiree of Walmart Inc. after 35 years of service. She united with New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Carrie Bea Newton, two sisters, Patricia Ann Newton, and Jacqueline Miller, two brothers, Raymond Newton and Daryl Newton, grandson, Gavin Jasper. Beatrice was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading and researching any medical condition you may have had. She was a true caregiver.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Glen Jasper of Crossett, AR, two sons, Byron Jasper of Crossett, AR, and Evan Jasper of Edmond, OK, three daughters, Leslie Jasper 'Michael Adair' of Edmond, OK, Daphne Herman and Erin Jasper both of Alexander, AR, four sisters, Flora Rowe of Texarkana, TX, Dorothy Cann of Dallas, TX, Karen and husband Tommy Moore and Christie and husband Corey Lindsey all of Crossett, AR, four brothers, Norman Gene Newton, Herman and wife Toyce Newton, and Danny Newton all of Crossett, AR, and Waymond Newton and wife Pamela of Monroe, LA, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two special sisters-in-law, Sandra Birdner of Crossett, AR, and Carolyn Fisher of Chesapeake, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Services will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Presiding Elder Tyrone Broomfield and Rev. Brandon Sims officiating. Pallbearers are Marcus Newton, Roderick Newton, Charles Cann, Damon Johnson, Dwight Johnson, Chadwick Newton, Clayton Simmons, Kelby Moore, Tommy Moore, Jr., Caleb Lindsey, Joshua Gibbs, and Ray Birdner. Honorary pallbearers are CHS Class of 1971 and Walmart Retirees. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
