Mrs. Beatrice Louise "Mama Bea" Chatman, 60 of Crossett, AR, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Univ. of AR Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born and spent most of her life in New Orleans, LA, but was a resident of Crossett for the past five years. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Zenobia Harris Chatman. She loved cooking Louisiana gumbo, swimming and reading.
She is survived by her husband Jerome Chatman, three sons: Clifford Chatman, wife Carlotta of Picayune, MS, Charlie Mamon & Claude Mamon both of New Orleans, LA, two daughters, Teresa Batiste of Dallas, TX, and Quezeena Mamon of Crossett, AR, one brother, Joseph Chatman of Brooklyn, NY, one sister, Jerrydine Chatman of New Orleans, LA, seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services are Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 am at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse L. Radford, Jr., officiating. Pallbearers are Bobby Brown, Charles Moore, Willie Ashford, Freddie Hargroves, Hubert Moon and Floyd Moon. Burial in Westivew Cemetery.
