Obituary

Beatrice Allen, 65 of Crossett, AR, transitioned, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR.  She was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retired social worker for Department of Human Services in Hamburg, AR, where she served for thirty-five plus years, and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Crossett High School Class of 1978 and a graduate of Arkansas State University.

Beatrice was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church serving as a Deaconess, in the Mission, Hospitality Committee, Kitchen Committee, a former choir member and a regular Sunday School attendant.  She enjoyed shopping, traveling, reading, and especially family gatherings. She loved helping others and had a ministry of giving.

She was preceded in death by her mother Easter Mae Lemon Walker, and both sets of maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Tony Allen, three sisters, Mildred and husband Glen Newton of Crossett, AR, Loretta Goree of Crossett, AR, and Sylvia and husband Michael Handy of Little Rock, AR, her father, Freddie Walker of Crossett, AR, three nephews, Vincent Newton and wife Brianna, Michael Handy and wife Victoria, and Myron Handy, five nieces, Andrea Williams and husband Neal, Erin Ricks and husband Jeremy, Eyona Goree, Elissa Goree, and Ashley Allen, and numerous other relatives and special friends.

Funeral service is Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at First Missionary Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Drive with Rev. Curtis Jackson officiating. Pallbearers are Douglas Tucker, Arthur Johnson, Marceleno Reed, Charles Johnson, Anthony Rogers, and Aaron Love. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
