Obituary

Barbara Ann Walker, age 77, of Wilmot died Monday, February 22, 2021 at her home in Wilmot surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Wilmot and a retired Teacher's Assistant with the Hamburg School District, she was a member of the John Westley A.M.E Zion Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Walker(2004), her parents John Pete and Jimmie Alberta Finley Metcalf, three brothers, Lee, John and Phenton Metcalf. Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, fishing and sewing. She was a very kind hearted person who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three sons, John and James Metcalf both of Wilmot, Steven Walker(Tammy) of Orcutt, Ca.; five daughters LaRhonda Wooden-Johnson and Quanisha Wooden both of Wilmot, Carolyn Carolina of St. Joe, Mo.; Claudia Tillman(Percy) of Monroe, La. and Karen Walker of Pheonix, Az.; two brothers, Andrew Metcalf(Delois) and James Parker(Darlene) both of Wilmot, four sisters, Barbara LaToison(Adelardo) of Little Rock, Debra Parker of California, Mammie Parker(Pierre) of Washington DC, Johnette Crockett of Dermott, Ar.; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Monday, March 1, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the John Westley A.M.E Zion Church with the Rev. Eddie Williams, Sr. officiating, burial will follow in the Jim Smith Cemetery.
