Mr. Archie Wendell Harris, 61, of Crossett, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett and a member of Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Archie James "A.J." Harris, Jr. and his brother, Donald Harris. Archie was a former employee of the Ashley County Sheltered Workshop. He was a "people-person". He loved the people in his community and they loved him back. His presence will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Sims Harris of Crossett, AR, one brother, Eddie Charles Sims of Crossett, AR, two sisters, Jacqueline Rhodes, husband Curtis of Bastrop, LA, Linda Henderson of Rockford, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Tyrone Broomfield and Rev. Harriel White, officiating. Active pallbearers are Tony R. Allen, Columbus Foster, Elbert R. Gibbs, Willie Griffin III, Herman Newton & Terrian Keys. Honorary pallbearers are Gates Chapel Stewards & Trustees. Burial in Westview Cemetery.

Visitation from 6-7:30 pm Monday, August 11 at Cromwell Funeral Home.
