Obituary

Mrs. Annie Blide Wilson, 68 of Crossett died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. She was a native of Houston, Texas but a resident of Crossett for the past 5 years. She was a Retired Educator of 42 years. She taught in California, Texas, as well as Arkansas. She was a member of the American Education Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association, and a lifetime member of the NAACP. Mrs. Wilson loved reading, tutoring kids, and interior decorating. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Alma Thomas Ballard.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Ben Ivery Wilson of Crossett; three sons: Dr. Alan Wilson and wife Stephanie of Crossett, Christopher Wilson of Bryan, Texas, and Kevin Wilson of Houston, Texas; two daughters: Anissa Wilson of Houston, Texas and Staci Mathis and husband Lawrence of Bryan, Texas; five brothers: William Ballard, Jr. and wife Bernadine of Atlanta, Georgia, Greg Ballard and wife Donna of Atlanta, Georgia, Harold Ballard and wife Claudette of Carson, California, Derrick Ballard and wife Lakeisha of Carson, California, and Thomas Hafford and wife Mary of Jasper, Texas; one sister: Lynn Williams of Los Angeles, California; sixteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:00A.M. at Pine Street Church of Christ with Bro. Thomas M. Foster officiating. Active pallbearers are Eddie Austin, Raymond Clark, J. C. Jackson, Jerome Jackson, Warren Jackson, and Ben Wilson, III. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Broad Hunting Club. Visitation will be Monday, October 25, 2010 from 6:00-8:00P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 901 North University Avenue Little Rock, AR 72207.
