Annie Ruth Duckworth Norman, 98 of Hamburg, AR, ( Pine Hill-Milo Community) transitioned Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Nightingale at Stonegate in Crossett, AR. She was a native of Hamburg, and a former resident of Chicago, IL, and surrounding suburbs. She accepted Christ at an early age and maintained a strong faith until the end.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Norman, a daughter, Sherry, parents, James and Lidia Bell Duckworth, all ten of her siblings, Versie Bilbo, Blanche Lowe, Clarence Duckworth, Charles Coleman Duckworth, Mary Wilson, Bernice Tharpe, Clinton Duckworth, Howard Duckworth, Robbie Brice, and Baby Carell. Mrs. Norman was a homemaker and had been a devoted stay-at-home mother while raising her children. She loved spending time with family, shopping, and self-care. She encouraged everyone she knew to take the very best care of themselves.
She is survived by four sons, Bobby (Porsha) Duckworth of San Diego, CA, Radford D. Norman of Wye, AR, Ken (Elisa) Norman of Las Vegas, NV, and Ricky C. Norman of Chicago, IL, seven daughters, Mary Brunson of Chicago, IL, Mildred (James) Sutton of Bolingbrook, IL, Donna Gholston of Bensenville, IL, Charlotte (Jeffery) Woodberry of Crossett, AR, Keshia Norman of Hamburg, AR, Jo Ann (Rodney) Hollins of Wye, AR, and Ella (Xavier) Gregory of Dallas, TX, thirty grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, sister-in law, Tyree Moore of Chicago, IL, brother-in-law, John Griffin of Chicago, IL, two extraordinary nieces, Shirley Duckworth of Ft. Hill, AR, and Beverly Simpson of Monticello, AR, niece, Burna Tharpe of Kankakee, IL, special cousin Albertine Newton of Crossett, AR, cousins, Larry Taylor of Crossett, AR, Brenda Washington of Ft. Hill, AR, Vera Martin of Pine Hill, AR, The Hawkins Family of Pine Hill, AR, Bobby and Karen Woodberry of Crossett, AR, best friends, Mary Edge, Roseanne "Vic" Sinkovitz, Barbara Kordick, Linda Edge, and Marjorie Grobelch all of Zion, IL, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Cromwell Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral service is Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. with Presiding Elder Shalane Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers are Keshad Hendrix, Rodney Hollins, Jeffery Woodberry, Jermaine Dupart, Sr., Jermaine Dupart, Jr. and Terrance Brunson. Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky C. Norman, Jalen Collins, Nathanial Marshall, Sr., Nathanial Marshall, Jr., Kenneth Norman, and James Sutton. Burial in Pugh Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
