Obituary

Annette Gardner Brown, 64 of McGehee, AR transitioned Saturday, February 10, 2024, at McGehee Hospital. She was a native of McGehee, but lived most of her life in Chicago, IL. She was a former Certified Nursing Assistant and a member of St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed working Word Search puzzles, singing, and going out to dinner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brown, parents, John and Mary Daniel Gossitt, and one sister, Ethel Haywood.

She is survived by two sons, Justin and wife Kimberly Brown of California and Keidrain Brown of Chicago, IL, two daughters, Shalon Hammons and Chasity Brown both of Chicago, IL, three brothers, Jerry and wife Cathy Gossitt of McGehee, AR, Freddy Gossitt of Little Rock, AR, and Shurman and wife Ila Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK, seven sisters, Linda and husband Cal Goodwin-Sheets of Wilmar, AR, Patricia Sanders of Monticello, AR, Jo Ann and husband Earnest Smith of Crossett, AR, Phillis Gardner of Ala Meda, CA, Christine and husband Ray Cox and Mary and husband Jerry Minor, and Willie Mae Butler all of McGehee, AR, five grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service is Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Pallbearers are Jerry Gossitt, Freddy Gossitt, Shurman Jackson, Earnest Smith, Rashad Hatch, and Cal Sheets. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church. Burial in Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
