Mr. Andrew Allen Newton, Jr., 95 of Montrose, AR, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. He was a lifelong resident of Montrose, a retiree of Lakeside School District, working as a mechanic for 37 years and a bus driver for 47 years.

Mr. Newton was preceded in death by his wife Letha Ann Newton, one daughter, Doris Reed, his parents, Andrew & Mary Newton. Mr. Newton loved his job & working.

He is survived by three sons: Leon Allen of Oakland, CA, George Crow, wife Brenda of Belton, MO & Melvin Crow of Dermott, AR, five daughters: Brenda Peoples, husband Howard of Kansas City, KS, Linda Brewer, husband Rev. Al, Mary Lancaster, husband Darrell, Ruth Newton and Dolleatha Webster all of Montrose, AR, nineteen grandchildren, sixty two great grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, and a host of other loved ones, relatives and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Victor Dolls, officiating. Pallbearers are Charles Bynum, Lee Edward Plummer, Tarrell Morris, Lawrence Webster, Landriel Woods & Nathan Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Al Brewer III, Darnell Lancaster, Jr., Darius Peoples, Eric Crow, Elvin Crow, Howard Peoples, r., Julian Crow & Eugene Battles. Burial in Quinn Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
