Obituary

Mr. Amos "Hardrock" Wallace, Sr. age 82 of Crossett, AR transitioned on Saturday December 30, 2023, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA. He was a native of Urbana, AR, a resident of Crossett, AR, and a member of Living Word COGIC. He was a retiree from the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill where he was a supervisor in the #3 Machine Room.

Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Woodrow Wallace, and Callie Mae McMurrian Wallace, a grandson Kenneth Grogan, Jr., three brothers Moses, Bobby Row, and Woodrow Wallace, Jr. and one sister, Ella Mae Wallace. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and coaching baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Marva Wallace, one son Amos Wallace, Jr. of Crossett, AR, three daughters Sharon Grogen of Simpsonville, SC., LaTonia Copeland "Clifford' of Conyers GA, Teresa Wallace Nolden "Nathaniel" of Schertz, TX, one stepson Derrick Thrower of Little Rock, AR, two stepdaughters Makesha Jackson of Little Rock, AR, and Marlena Bullock of Crossett, AR, stepmother Willie Mae Wallace of Decatur, GA, one brother, William Wallace of Decatur, GA, two sisters Emogene Lowe of Crossett, AR, Ruth Craig of Milwaukee, WI, seven grandchildren, Sequoia Grogan, Dominique Wallace, Sabreona Wallace, Kalandra Wallace, Roland Perry, Karissa Hodges, and Jakayla Woods, eight great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Funeral service will be Tuesday January 9, 2024, at Living Word Church of God In Christ at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Rick Matheney officiating. Pallbearers are Edward Rogers, Jr., Redo Reed, Gvona Turner, Sr., Robert Griffis, Ollie Jones, and William Wallace, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Amos Wallace, Jr., Nathaniel Nolden, Clifford Copeland, Samuel King, Gary Rodgers, Izelle Block, Johnnie Nelson, Larry Montgomery, Lemoyne "Butch" Dickerson, Henry Garrison, Donald Baldwin, Ronald Watson, John Reed, and Larry Senn. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home Inc of Hamburg.

Visitation Monday January 8, 2024, from 5:30-6:30 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home, Hamburg, AR.
