Alfonzo Lee "Bobie" King, age 68 of Hamburg died Sunday November 26, 2023, at Nightingale at Stonegate in Crossett, AR. He was a lifelong resident of Hamburg, an employee of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill for many years and a retired chainsaw operator for Sanderlin Logging Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee King and Floydia Mae Arrington, two brothers Sammy Lee King and Dave Haynes, four sisters Lena Mae Haynes, Eula Mae Haynes, Pearl King, and Alvin Jean Lambert. Alfonzo enjoyed playing basketball, football, dominoes, and cards with relatives and friends. He had a deep passion for the sport of boxing and participated in local boxing matches. Known for his funny personality, family and friends loved him and he loved his family dearly.
He is survived by five daughters, Niki Marie Turner of Muskegon, MI., Tamaca King of Arlington, TX., Quiana King of Strong, AR., Melissa Savage of Fort Worth, TX., and Amanda Chapple of Oklahoma City, OK., three stepsons Tyce James and Don Brewer both of Little Rock, AR., Kevin Stroud wife April of Crossett, AR., three brothers Elmer King of Hamburg, AR., Archie Lee Haynes of Huttig, AR., and Paul Simpson of Maumelle, AR., two sisters Christie Lee Davis and Rosa Nell King both of Hamburg, AR., 26 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday December 2, 2023, at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM minister Tony Jones officiating. Pallbearers are Anthony Webster, Billy Charles Lambert, Marcus Jordan, Jesse Williams, Fredrick Lambert, and Freddie Haynes. Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin Stroud, Tyce James, Don Brewer, Henry Dunn, Curtis Martin, and Charles Mooney Jr. Burial will be at Johnson Memorial Cemetery in Hamburg under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home Inc. of Hamburg, AR.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 Friday December 1, 2023, at Cromwell Funeral Home.
